Day Camp Announcement

Hello St. Bernadette family. It is that time of year when we usually start preparing for our St. Bernadette Summer Day Camp. As we all know, these last two summers we were unable to have summer camp due to the pandemic and we were looking forward to possibly bringing camp back this summer.

Last August, Hurricane Ida caused significant damage to our Herbert Hall and Fr. Pat O’Brien facilities and we are in the process of repairs to these buildings. This is a multi-phase process as we are having to work with our insurance company, FEMA and the availability of contractors and supplies. Our timeline is still in question as to when the remainder of the work will be done.

Knowing that there will almost definitely be work stretching into the summer, we made the decision to not have summer camp again this summer. We know this is sad news to many who were hoping to send their kids to camp at St. Bernadette this summer. We are still planning to have smaller events this summer like Vacation Bible School and other youth activities where we can work around the repairs that are being made. I am very grateful for your understanding. Please know of my continued prayers for all of you.

In Christ,

Fr. Andre
